Pillowcase 40×60, 60×60 or 65×65: which size to choose depending on your pillow?
A poorly fitted pillowcase means a pillow that moves, silk that wrinkles, and a messy-looking bed. Here's how to choose the right size the first time, no matter what your pillow is.
Why size changes everything

40×60: small rectangular pillows
The least common size, suitable for small rectangular pillows (often foam or memory foam), travel and support pillows. If the pillow overflows or swims in the pillowcase, the size is not correct.
50×70: the hotel size
50×70 is the international rectangular size, used in hotels and for ergonomic pillows. It's also the size where the face is most in contact with the pillowcase: so it's better for the surface to glide rather than rub. Silk makes perfect sense here to limit tangled hair and marks upon waking.
60×60: the standard French square
The most common size in France. If you don't know the dimensions of your square pillow, chances are it's 60×60. Never put a 60×60 pillowcase on a 65×65 pillow, or vice versa.
65×65: the large size for large beds
For a bed of 160 cm or more, the 65×65 offers more surface area, better support, and a more refined visual look, in the spirit of hotel rooms. To be reserved for 65×65 cm square pillows.
What about density (Momme)?
Once the size is chosen, there's still the silk density:
- 22 Momme: the best comfort/durability ratio to start with.
- 25 Momme: denser and smoother, pleasant for sensitive skin.
- Higher: premium feel, very durable.
